Our Summit based contracting firm still retains a family atmosphere that extends well beyond the three generations of Prisco’s who have owned and managed the business since its inception in 1946. A large number of our office and field personnel are also second and third generation employees who have dedicated themselves to our common goal: client satisfaction.
ABOUT J.R. PRISCO COMPANY EXECS
James R. Prisco, Sr., Founder
James Prisco, Sr. founded the company in 1946. Based originally in Summit, his small start soon expanded to a concrete and masonry specialist. Our entire organization left saddened with his passing in 2020.
James R. Prisco, Jr., P.E., CEO
James Prisco, Jr. graduated from Catholic University with a degree in civil engineering. Upon gradation he received his NJ Professional Engineering License and became an integral part of the company’s growth and expansion into general contracting. Introducing new ideas and systems, James Jr. moved the company into becoming a reputable general contracting firm serving major commercial clients. Later, participating as a management trustee, he helped the laborers and masons pension/welfare programs expand. In 1990 James Jr. became acting president of J.R. Prisco, Inc. accepting the title of C.E.O. with the passing of James Prisco, Sr. Jim held the position of V.P. of the Building Construction Association of New Jersey and continued as trustee of ACCNJ until 2020. Industry participation continues as cochair of the N.J.B.A.C. Apprentice program.
Philip D. Prisco, C.E., President
Growing up within the family business atmosphere, Philip Prisco graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Civil Engineering. Spending the next years in the estimating department along with field supervising gave him the overall experience of different aspects of the construction industry. Subsequently, Philip headed J.R. Prisco’s push towards becoming a safety-oriented company. Expanding the company safety policy program, Philip became one of New Jersey’s first certified OSHA 500 Outreach Trainers to go through the BCA of NJ program. He now guides the company as President. Phil’s participation in our industry advanced with his election to the ACCNJ Board of Directors as well as management trustee on the State Laborers Health & Pension Board.
Thomas B. Smith III, Vice President and Senior Estimator
Started as a young intern serving under the tutelage of his father Thomas B. Smith Jr. more than 33 years ago. His knowledge of detail allows him to become e leader in conceptual estimating. His presentations are admired by both architects and owners. A major part of our expansion into the construction management environment.
Claire Prisco Dalessio, P.E. Head Engineer Dept., Corporate Secretary
Upon graduation from Lehigh University, she proceeded to work at Dalessio Engineering which became an extension of J.R. Prisco Design & Consulting Services. In 2020, she became a corporate secretary.
Nicholas A. D’Amore, Vice President
After graduating from St. Peter’s with Economics & Finance Degree. Nick started assisting as a CFO admin. However moving quickly to the construction management side. Starting as an assistant project manager and in 10 years advanced to Vice President of construction. He has both LEED and OSHA credentials.
